How Much Does It Cost to Move a Full Bedroom in Jeddah?
Moving a full bedroom means a bed and mattress, a wardrobe, a dresser and bedside tables, and sometimes a chest of drawers, mirror and shelving. The cost is not set by the number of pieces alone, but by wardrobe size and timber, whether dismantling and reassembly are needed, floors and lifts at both homes, and the distance between them. This page explains each factor and when a bedroom is a stand-alone small move versus part of a full house move.

What "a full bedroom" means for pricing
When someone asks for a bedroom moving price, we first ask what is in it, because "a bedroom" can mean very different things. A child's room with a single bed and a small wardrobe is not the same as a master bedroom with a king bed, a six-door wardrobe and a dresser with a large mirror. A full bedroom usually includes:
- The bed frame, base and headboard.
- The mattress, sometimes with a topper.
- The wardrobe with doors, drawers and shelves.
- The dresser and mirror.
- Bedside tables and any chest of drawers.
- Wardrobe contents, boxed or bagged.
Each item affects time and labour, which is why we ask for photos before quoting.
The factors that set the cost
| Factor | How it affects price |
|---|---|
| Wardrobe size | A large or ceiling-height sliding wardrobe takes far longer to dismantle and rebuild than a two-door unit. |
| Timber type | Heavy solid wood needs more movers; particleboard needs care on reassembly. |
| Dismantling and assembly | Moving the room dismantled and rebuilding it needs a carpenter and is a core part of the cost. |
| Floor and lift | Stairs at one or both homes multiply the effort. |
| Distance | Within the same district is much shorter than north to south Jeddah. |
| Packing | Careful wrapping of doors, mirror and mattress, and who packs the clothes. |
| Wall anchoring | Anchored wardrobes need removing and re-fixing. |
Why we do not quote a fixed number before seeing the room
Two rooms with the same name can differ several times over in effort. The wardrobe alone can be one hour or three depending on size and design, and an older walk-up building can turn a two-person job into a four-person job. A blind fixed price would either be padded for safety or change on the day, and neither is fair to you. So we ask for photos and send a written quote. For indicative ranges on apartments and villas, see the Jeddah moving price guide.
Send photos of the bedroom and wardrobe on WhatsApp and we will send a written quote including dismantling and assembly.
District and distance
With a single room, travel and arrival time form a bigger share of the cost than in a full house move. Moving a bedroom within the same district, or between neighbouring north Jeddah districts such as Al Rawdah and Al Salamah, is much shorter than moving it from North Obhur to the southern districts. The district itself matters too: on narrow streets with limited parking the truck may stop far from the entrance, making carries longer, whereas villa districts usually have easier parking. That is why we ask about both districts and parking even for one room.
One bedroom versus a whole house
As a stand-alone job, a bedroom carries the full cost of the truck, crew and travel on its own, while in a full house move those costs are shared across everything. So one room can look relatively expensive compared with its share of a house move.
Common stand-alone cases: moving a bedroom for a newly married son, delivering a sold second-hand bedroom to a buyer, collecting a second-hand set you bought, or sending a room to storage. We use a suitably sized truck and a small crew to keep costs down.
Dismantling and assembly: most of the work
With bedrooms, the drive is usually the shortest part. Most time goes into dismantling, packing and reassembly. Wardrobes come apart in order: doors, then drawers and shelves, then the carcass. Beds split into headboard, rails and base. Each set of fixings goes into a bag labelled with the piece. At the new home we reassemble and level the wardrobe and its doors.
If you need assembly only, for example moving a room within the same house, see dismantling and assembly only pricing. For a district example, see bedroom assembly in Al Asalah.
Packing and its effect on price
Bedroom packing focuses on three items: wardrobe doors and polished faces, the mirror, and the mattress. Doors get fabric blankets then stretch film, the mirror is packed separately with corner guards and bubble wrap and carried upright, and the mattress goes into a clean cover. These materials are part of the cost and the quote states who supplies them. If you box clothes and bedding yourself before the day, working time and cost fall; if you want our team to pack clothes too, we add it clearly.
Illustrative examples
Child's room with a single bed and two-door wardrobe
Light pieces and quick dismantling. A small job, especially on a low floor over a short distance.
Master bedroom with a six-door wardrobe and large dresser
Hours of dismantling and assembly, heavy pieces needing more movers, and a large mirror needing special packing. Several times the effort of the first case.
Solid-wood suite on a fourth floor without a lift
All of the above plus a long staircase. A hoist may be faster and safer if the facade allows it.
These examples only show the differences; your price comes from the written quote after photos.

Children's rooms and bunk beds
A child's room may look small in a quote, but some items need care: bunk beds must be fully dismantled and firmly rebuilt with the top guard rail checked, wardrobes must be anchored to the wall because children climb open drawers, and desks and wall shelves need refitting. These details do not add much cost, but they need a carpenter who takes safety seriously, so we list them in the quote.
Moving a bedroom into storage
Sometimes the destination is a warehouse: a long trip abroad, a new home not ready yet, or a room you do not need now. For longer storage we prefer closed, air-conditioned units and breathable fabric covers on wooden pieces rather than tight stretch film for months. We can dismantle and store the room, then deliver and assemble it later. See monthly furniture storage rates.
IKEA and flat-pack bedrooms
Flat-pack bedrooms, including IKEA, are lighter than solid wood but need more precision because screw holes weaken each time they are taken apart. Sometimes the carpenter reinforces holes with dowels or slightly larger screws. So lighter does not always mean cheaper; time can be similar. For large IKEA wardrobes see dismantling IKEA PAX wardrobes.
When a bedroom needs a hoist
Bedrooms rarely need a hoist, since most parts come apart and pass stairs and lifts. Exceptions include a massive solid-wood wardrobe whose carcass does not separate, an extra-wide upholstered headboard, or a high floor with very narrow stairs. We suggest a hoist after a survey and price it separately in the quote. See our furniture hoist page.

- Empty the wardrobe yourself before we arrive.
- Combine the room with any other items you need moved.
