Carpenter removing wardrobe doors and labelling panels in a Mishrifah apartment in Jeddah

Who this service is for

Mishrifah is a dense, established residential district in central-north Jeddah, made up mostly of multi-storey apartment buildings, with a good number of furnished and serviced apartments. Many of our customers here are families moving to a bigger flat, professionals relocating within the city, and expats leaving a rented apartment at the end of a contract.

What they have in common is a bedroom set that will not fit through a standard stairwell or lift in one piece. A king-size bed frame, a four-door wardrobe and a dresser with a large mirror almost always need to be partly or fully taken apart before they can leave the building safely.

What we dismantle and rebuild

  • Beds: headboard, footboard, side rails, slats or base panels, and storage or hydraulic lift beds.
  • Wardrobes: hinged doors, sliding doors and tracks, drawers, shelves, hanging rails and the carcass itself.
  • Dressers and mirrors: the mirror is detached and travels upright in its own protective wrap.
  • Bedside tables and chests of drawers: usually moved whole with drawers secured, unless they are too large.
  • Fittings: handles, internal wardrobe lighting and glass shelves.

Our labelling system, explained

Before the first screw comes out, every panel gets a sticker showing the room, the item and its position, for example "Room 1 – wardrobe – upper right door". Screws, cam locks, dowels and hinges go straight into a clear bag marked with the same code. All bags for one room go into a single small box that stays with the supervisor, not buried among cartons in the truck.

We also take quick photos of the wardrobe interior so shelves and rails go back exactly where you had them. It sounds simple, but this is what turns a three-hour reassembly into a one-hour job and prevents doors being hung upside down.

WhatsApp us a photo of the wardrobe inside and out, and we will tell you whether it needs full disassembly or just the doors removed.

Access in Mishrifah apartment buildings

Buildings in Mishrifah vary a lot: some have reasonably sized lifts, others have small lifts or none at all, and stairwells often have tight turns. We decide how far to dismantle each piece based on the narrowest point on the route out, which might be the apartment door, a landing turn or the lift door.

If a wardrobe can pass once its doors are off, we stop there. Every extra step of disassembly means extra reassembly and extra wear on the joints. Before moving day we ask you for a photo or rough measurements of the lift and the stair landing, and we protect wall corners, the entrance floor and banisters before carrying anything.

Parking and timing around the building

Side streets in Mishrifah fill up with residents' cars in the evening, and the commercial roads nearby, including Madinah Road and Prince Majid Road, get heavy at peak hours. We prefer to start dismantling in the morning and bring the truck as close to the building entrance as possible, so panels are not carried a long way along the street.

On narrow streets we often stage everything at the entrance first and call the truck in once the room is ready, keeping the time it blocks the road to a minimum. If your building has a caretaker, letting them know the time helps reserve the lift and the space at the door.

Step by step on dismantling day

  1. A walk-through of the room to agree what is dismantled and what moves whole.
  2. Emptying wardrobes and drawers if this has not been done, using wardrobe boxes or garment bags.
  3. Photos of the interior and labels on every panel.
  4. Doors, mirrors and glass removed first, since they break most easily.
  5. The carcass taken apart, with hardware bagged by code.
  6. Panels wrapped in corrugated board or moving blankets, edges fitted with corner guards.
  7. Pieces carried down and loaded so that each room travels together.

Reassembly: what we check before we leave

Reassembly is more than putting panels back together. Wardrobes are levelled with a spirit level, hinges are adjusted so doors close flush without rubbing, and every drawer is tested. Beds are checked for stable slats and no creaking. Tall wardrobes can be anchored to the wall on request where the wall is suitable, which we strongly recommend in children's rooms.

We clear away wrapping and empty bags and hand over a room you can sleep in that night, with any spare screws left in a labelled bag.

When we recommend not dismantling

Not everything should come apart. Small dressers, bedside tables and medium chests of drawers usually travel whole once emptied, with drawers held shut by tape that leaves no residue. Older solid furniture is sometimes glued or nailed, and forcing it apart can split the wood. In that case we look for another route: removing doors only, tilting the piece through the stairwell at a planned angle, or hoisting it from a balcony where the building and street allow.

Furnished apartments and landlord furniture

Because Mishrifah has many furnished flats, tenants often move their own pieces and leave the landlord's behind. We tag your items with a different coloured label and confirm each one with you before we start, so nothing belonging to the owner gets dismantled by mistake. If you are moving into a furnished apartment and need to store your bedroom for a while, we can flat-pack it to save storage space and keep the hardware box with the panels.

What affects the price

  • Number of pieces and wardrobe size (doors and width).
  • Construction: cam locks, screws or sliding systems.
  • Large mirrors, glass panels or internal lighting.
  • Floor level, lift availability and how close the truck can park.
  • Same-day reassembly or reassembly after storage.
  • Wall anchoring or layout changes you ask for.

We do not quote a fixed figure before seeing the furniture, because two "standard" bedroom sets can take very different amounts of time. Send clear photos and we will reply with a written quote.

How to prepare the room

  • Empty wardrobes and drawers, or tell us and we will bring wardrobe boxes.
  • Clear items off dressers and shelves.
  • Keep any original assembly instructions you still have.
  • Tell us about pieces that were repaired before or have damage.
  • Switch off and unplug internal wardrobe lighting.
  • Keep the path from the bedroom to the front door clear.

Moving to nearby districts or across Jeddah

Mishrifah borders districts such as Al Aziziyah, Al Sharafiya and Al Ruwais, so many moves are short hops across central Jeddah, although they can still be slow at rush hour. For nearby moves we usually dismantle, move and reassemble in one day. If you are heading far north, to Obhur for example, we start loading early so reassembly is finished before evening. Either way, each room is loaded together and unloaded in the same order, so the carpenter can start reassembling as soon as the first load arrives.

Common mistakes we avoid

  • Moving a tall wardrobe with doors attached, which breaks hinges or mirrors.
  • Mixing bed and wardrobe hardware, which costs hours at the new home.
  • Laying panels flat under heavy items in the truck so they warp.
  • Wrapping a damp mattress in plastic, which traps moisture and odour.
  • Rebuilding on an uneven floor without levelling, so doors swing open.

Related services you can add

Bedroom disassembly can be part of a full apartment move or a standalone job if you are moving the rest yourself. We can also pack clothes and linen, take down curtains and light fittings, and arrange an AC technician for split units. With several bedrooms, we dismantle guest and children's rooms first and leave the master bedroom until last, then rebuild it first at the new place so the family has a proper first night.

Bedroom assembly in Mishrifah: FAQs

A typical room with a four-door wardrobe and a double bed takes part of a morning to dismantle and wrap; reassembly takes similar time or a little longer because of adjustment. We confirm timing after seeing photos.
