Kitchen Dismantling and Installation Cost in Jeddah
There is no single price for moving a kitchen. Six aluminium units in a flat are a completely different job from a full wooden kitchen with a marble worktop, an island and built-in appliances in a villa. This page explains what actually drives the cost, what to check before accepting a quote, and what to send us so you get a clear written price.

Why kitchen prices vary so much
A kitchen is not one piece of furniture. It is a set of wall and base units fixed to the walls, joined by a worktop, with water, drainage, electricity and sometimes gas running behind and beneath. Each element adds time, effort and risk. Anyone quoting a kitchen without seeing it is either guessing broadly or will add items later.
We build a price from five questions: how many units, what material, what worktop, which built-in appliances, and what the walls and new space are like. Clear photos usually answer all five.
Factor one: number and length of units
The simplest measure is the running length in metres, or the count of wall and base units. A small flat may have a few units along one wall; a villa kitchen may be L- or U-shaped with tall units for fridge and oven. Every unit means removing doors, hinges and drawers, detaching the carcass from the wall, then wrapping and numbering it.
Photograph the kitchen from at least two angles so we see every wall, and note the rough length of each wall if you can.
Factor two: wood or aluminium
Aluminium kitchens are lighter and come apart fairly easily because they rely on screws and metal brackets, though glass or lacquered doors need careful wrapping and frames bend if carried badly.
Wooden kitchens are heavier, often made to measure, and sometimes glued or fixed with hidden screws. They take longer to dismantle and may need a carpenter to fit a space with different dimensions. Size for size, wood usually costs more to move than aluminium.
Factor three: the worktop
The worktop is the most delicate part. Wood or laminate tops are fairly easy. Marble, granite and quartz are very heavy and can crack, especially around sink and hob cut-outs where the stone is weakest. Removal means cutting silicone carefully, lifting with enough people and carrying on edge with protected corners.
Often the old top does not fit the new layout and needs recutting or a new top from a stone workshop, which is a separate cost. See heavy item handling fees for safes and marble.

Factor four: built-in appliances and connections
Built-in ovens, hobs, extractor hoods, dishwashers and integrated fridges all add work. Some need disconnecting at the board by an electrician, some are plumbed in, and a gas hob needs a qualified technician to isolate and disconnect the line safely.
Removing the sink, mixer and waste properly needs a plumber if they are to be refitted correctly. The quote states which parts our crew handles and which need a specialist, so you are not left with a leak or a dead appliance.
Factor five: the new space
Installation is what decides the final result. If the new walls are close to the old dimensions, fitting is quick. If not, a unit may need removing, fillers adding or doors adjusting, which means a carpenter.
Water and power points matter too: if they sit in different places, units may need new cut-outs. Ask the landlord or contractor for the new kitchen plan or measurements and send them with photos of the old one.
Floor, lift and distance
Kitchen units are long and flat and stone tops are heavy, so a high floor without a lift, or a lift too small for tall units, adds movers and time on the stairs at either end. These details can move the price more than the kitchen type itself.
Distance matters less when the kitchen travels with the rest of your furniture in the same truck, and more when it needs a trip of its own. Moving it as part of a full house move spreads truck and crew costs across everything.
Condition of the old kitchen
Years of Jeddah humidity can swell wood behind the sink or under the dishwasher, rust hinges and wear out screws. That slows dismantling, and weak panels can fail however careful we are. We look for these signs in your photos and tell you in advance.
Damaged units are sometimes better replaced with new ones of the same size at installation rather than moving a unit that will collapse in months. It costs a little more but protects the rest of the kitchen.
What raises and lowers the cost
| Raises cost | Lowers cost |
|---|---|
| Made-to-measure wooden kitchen | Aluminium kitchen with standard units |
| Long marble or granite worktop | Wood or laminate worktop |
| Built-in appliances and gas | Freestanding appliances |
| New space with different dimensions | Similar dimensions |
| High floor without a lift | Ground floor or large lift |
| Same-day fitting with the full move | Separate, flexible fitting date |
This is a general guide; the final price follows a look at your kitchen.
Is moving the kitchen worth it?
Ask this before any price: is moving the old kitchen cheaper than a new one for the new home? It depends on age, condition and fit. A recent kitchen in good shape with similar dimensions is usually worth moving. An older kitchen with swollen wood, or one far from the new dimensions, can cost nearly as much to remove and adapt as a simple new kitchen.
We give you an honest view after seeing the photos; the decision is yours. If you leave it, it can stay with the landlord if agreed, or be disposed of responsibly.

Kitchens in rented flats
In many rented flats in Jeddah the tenant, not the landlord, owns the kitchen and takes it when moving. Before dismantling, confirm from your lease or with the landlord that it is yours. Removing it can leave wall holes or unfinished tiling behind the units, so agree how the empty kitchen will be handed back.
If the new flat is rented too, ask whether you may fix units to the walls and drill them, to avoid disputes later.
When a separate fitting day is better
If the kitchen needs carpentry, a new stone top cut to size, or new water and power points, it is better to move it with your furniture, store it dismantled at the new home and fit it on a separate day once everything is ready. Rushing it on moving day usually gives disappointing results.
If dimensions are close and services are ready, fitting can happen the same day or the next. For the full service see kitchen moving and installation in Jeddah and for general furniture see dismantling and assembly only.
Kitchen dismantling and installation cost: FAQs
Usually clear photos of the kitchen, worktop and appliances plus wall lengths are enough; for large kitchens we may prefer a visit.
The quote says so explicitly. Moving stone tops needs extra people and care; recutting or a new top is a separate cost.
Qualified technicians handle these; we arrange them in the plan or coordinate with yours.
Size for size, wood is usually more expensive to move because it is heavier and often made to measure.
We compare measurements before the move and tell you if it needs adjusting or is not worth moving.
Yes, and we recommend it when the new space needs work or a new top.
